"The graphic design of the solar cells with a colourful moiré effect shows that they not only produce energy, but can also be a real work of art," comments solar designer Marjan van Aubel. Asca's solar modules consist of organic carbon-based solar cells and supply the pavilion with solar energy. At the same time, they create suitable light for growing food.

For the organic solar cells, fine ink layers are applied to thin PET films using a special printing process. Since the solutions are light and easy to transport, the solar modules can be disassembled and reassembled. After the Expo, they will therefore be reassembled at a new location. (mfo)
