Siemens Sivacon 8PS busbar systems have been used in wind power plants for several years. The product range is now being expanded to include the LDM-P busbar trunking system. It is intended for use in solar power plants, where massive amounts of energy are often transmitted in very confined spaces. The busbars can be installed in the tightest of spaces and guarantee high availability with low maintenance.
This is where the technology clearly has the edge over solutions involving cables: fast planning and installation, currents of up to 7,000 amperes, exact coordination with other necessary products such as inverters and transformers. In addition, Siemens offer support during the planning phase, enabling customers to achieve consistent and efficient power distribution. If the connections are out of reach, the housing can even be omitted. (mfo)
