TE Connectivity has expanded its product range to include the new Solarlok PV Edge distributed junction box, which can be attached to glass-glass solar modules without drilling. The junction box reduces installation costs, increases the energy output of the solar modules and improves reliability. Being compact, it can be positioned directly on the edge of the glass to prevent shading of the cells on the back of the modules.
According to TE, Solarlok PV Edge is the first junction box that can be mounted on the edge of solar modules. This eliminates the need for manufacturers to drill holes or use a potting resin that can take up to six hours to cure. The junction box is available for east-west and north-south orientations in order to cover all possible module layouts. In addition, TE also offers an IEC and UL approved 1500 volt solution. (mfo)
