Electric van:

VDL Bus & Coach product range expanded with MidEuro Electric

The MidEuro Electric is built at VDL Bus Venlo. Managing Director Mark Francot: "In everything we do, we strive for environmentally friendly solutions that contribute to a healthier living environment and more travel comfort. The MidEuro Electric is an excellent example of this. Moreover, this vehicle confirms VDL Bus & Coach's role as a partner for sustainable cooperation. With Pon's Automobielhandel we were able to develop the MidEuro Electric into a high-quality vehicle."

115 kilometres of range

The operating range of the MidEuro Electric is 115 kilometres according to the WLTP standard, a guideline that describes the uniform global standard for determining the emissions, fuel consumption and electric range of light vehicles. This makes this electric minibus ideally suited for shuttle services such as hotel transfers and easily handles a complete working day in an urban environment.

Several configurations are possible depending on vehicle use and customer preferences. In addition, the MidEuro Electric is suitable for transporting passengers with reduced mobility. The customised conversion is fully adapted to the specific requirements in high-class transport of small groups. For example, all seats have leather upholstery as standard. Attention has also been paid to easy access for passengers (8+1) and wheelchair users.

Unique cooperation

During the development of the MidEuro Electric, VDL Bus & Coach worked closely with Pon's Automobielhandel, importer for the Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, ŠKODA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brands in the Netherlands. The first contacts between VDL and Pon came about in connection with the expansion of the VDL programme to include an electric minibus based on the Volkswagen e-Crafter. Development then began, and Volkswagen AG quickly joined in. By submitting a letter of no objection, the vehicle was released by Volkswagen AG.
