In the future, not only the rail lines of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) will be electrified. The other vehicle fleets are also to be made up of EVs. To this end, Plug'n Roll is building a customised charging infrastructure at 175 SBB locations. This will comprise a total of 400 to 600 charge points at which SBB road and service vehicles as well as customers of the railway company can recharge their vehicles.

Plug'n Roll, the electric mobility subsidiary of the energy company Repower based in Landquart in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, will do more than set up the charge points. The company is also responsible for the operation, maintenance and billing system of the charging infrastructure. The first SBB locations will be equipped with charge points this year. The entire project should be completed by 2026. (su/mfo)
