Apcoa Parking operates around 1.8 million parking spaces in Europe. They are spread over more than 12,000 locations in 13 European countries. By 2035, 100,000 new charging stations for electric vehicles will be installed in the car parks.
AC charging boxes with eleven and 22 kilowatts will be used. At the same time, strategic partners from the automotive industry as well as energy suppliers and service providers will install more than 1,000 additional DC fast charging points.

The charging infrastructure is supported by a digital platform developed by Apcoa. It can be operated independently of the owner of the charging station. The open system structure makes it possible to integrate different partners and services.

The apps Apcoa Flow and Connect serve as an interface for the parking customers. They handle the charging process along with payment and allow the search and booking of free charge points.
Car parks become urban hubs
Apcoa wants to convert its car parks - often in prime city locations - into so-called urban hubs. The charging infrastructure for e-vehicles plays an essential role in this. "For customers, our locations will become more attractive due to the extended service," says Philippe Op de Beeck, CEO of Apcoa Parking. "For us as operators, we see additional revenue potential in upgrading our car parks with e-charging stations and other services."

The charging infrastructure will essentially be powered by green energy. Currently, around 2,500 e-charging stations are available in the car parks operated by Apcoa. Based on the data collected at these charging stations, it can be foreseen that demand will increase very quickly very soon. (HS)
