The currently prevailing method of wired charging is subject to safety, robustness and convenience concerns, as it requires enormous cables, especially at higher outputs. In contrast, wireless charging is considered a relatively safe and clean method.

Finepower has been developing solutions for this for several years and is now expanding its technology to include bidirectional operation in conjunction with high-power, low-voltage batteries. To this end, the company is working on the Bilia research project, which is funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and the VDI-VDE-I project management organisation. (mfo)
