New EV charging hub in the UK has been granted planning permission

The new Electric Forecourt will be located between Enterprise Way and the eastern side of Duckmanton in the Midlands of the UK – about 50 kilometres south of Leeds. The site features 25 High Power chargers, providing up to 350 kilowatts – which can supply up to 160 kilometres of range in less than 10 minutes. Additionally, there will be five AC chargers providing up to 22 kilowatts. All chargers are supplied by fully renewable energy.

The new Electric Forecourt makes a contribution to local electric vehicle charging infrastructure by more than doubling the number of public chargers in the Chesterfield Borough. Construction of the new Electric Forecourt at Markham Vale is due to start later in 2023, with opening being targeted for the second half of 2024.

EV charging infrastructure drives up EV registrations

The Electric Forecourts have been a huge success and help to their local communities. The areas around the Electric Forecourts in Braintree and Norwich have seen an increase in EV registrations since opening as drivers feel confident to make the switch with easy and reliable charging in their local community.
