Basically, the two new wallboxes succeed the Amtron Compact. The electronics have been updated and the units are now shipped with a 7.5-metre charging cable and a charging capacity of up to 22 kilowatts.
While the 2.0 version marks the entry into the home charging infrastructure, the 2.0s has some additional features. For example, it also has access protection via RFID. This makes it suitable for carports or for installation in an outdoor car park. In addition to simple charging, it can also be connected to a photovoltaic system. It communicates with any energy management system, regardless of the manufacturer. This is because the Walbox has an interface to an external meter from Mennekes.

Furthermore, Mennekes has given the proven Amtron Charge Control wallbox a software update. In addition to the already existing access protection via an RFID system, the device can now also be conveniently operated via smartphone or tablet. This charging station can now also be connected to the solar system. For this purpose, the developers have integrated open interfaces such as Modbus TCP and, since the upgrade, also EEBus as well as SEMP (Simply Energy Management Protocol). This allows it to communicate with energy management systems from different manufacturers. (mfo)
