Phoenix Contact: A new AC charge controller

According to Phoenix Contact, the new AC charge controller EV Charge Control Advanced Plus combines all essential control and monitoring functions for the charging process in one compact unit. In addition to AC charging according to the IEC-61851-1 standard, the controller also features DC fault current monitoring. The controller is automatically reset when fault currents occur, which increases the availability of the charging station.

In addition, an automatic release of the charging plug in the event of a power failure is integrated so that it can be removed without any problems in such a case. User authorisation is easily achieved by RFID, either via a local whitelist or a backend connection. RFID readers and energy meters can be connected conveniently via RS-485 and Modbus/RTU.

The Ethernet interface enables the remote control and monitoring of the charging point via Modbus/TCP. Optionally, the AC charge control is also available with an integrated 3G modem and OCPP interface. The charge controller is designed for charge points and charging parks in semi-public and commercial use. (mfo)
