Solar-EVs:

Electric vehicle Sion gets more power

It also increases the charging power to up to 75 kilowatts, Sono announces. The additional range of 112 kilometres per week on average due to solar power from the outer skin remains unchanged. The lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP technology) completely dispenses with cobalt, manganese and nickel. The new battery increases the service life to up to 3,000 cycles, or up to 900,000 kilometres. "In our surveys, more than 90 per cent of previous buyers voted for a more powerful battery," says Laurin Hahn, CEO of Sono Motors, explaining the move to the larger battery.

According to Sono, climate protection is a top priority in all of the company's divisions. In line with this commitment, the company will therefore offset all unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions generated in production by supporting certified climate protection projects. This also includes all possible emissions resulting from the procurement of the new battery.

In 2017, Sono Motors presented its innovative electric vehicle, the Sion, to the public. To date, the car pioneer has received more than 13,000 reservations for the Sion. The price is to remain unchanged at 25,500 euros. (mfo)
