Last week you got to meet Günter Haug of BayWa r.e. Now it is the turn of Urban Windelen of BVES to answer our six questions:
1. How are you personally – and as a company – coping with the corona crisis?
To quote the German Chancellor: If it helped to get upset, then I would get upset. In other words: You shouldn't resist changes, you have to accept them and make the best of them. Today it is more important than ever to think and act positively.
2. What are you enthusiastic about, apart from your company?
I am a fan of Japan. There they have this term Takumi – there is no specific translation for it, but it basically describes a mixture of passion and dedication to the best results. I find that very inspiring.
3. What social media account or podcast makes your life better?
Various social media channels are a necessary standard and an essential part of communication work today. But do they make my life better? If so then maybe WhatsApp as an easy and creative way to reach out and stay in touch with family and friends
4. Whom would you like to meet/have met?
I would like to meet Santa Claus and take a selfie with him as proof for my 10 year old daughter, so that she can keep her dreams for a couple of more years.
5. If you could change one thing in the world – other than the corona crisis, of course – what would it be?
One thing is definitely not enough, I am afraid. Therefore let’s keep it simple: treat others like you want to be treated yourself – then you are on track.
6. What makes the association you work for or run special?
The BVES – the German Association for Energy Storage Systems – adds a crucial component to the energy transition. Without energy storage it won’t work. Of course, it feels good to be part of the solution and rather than part of the problem. And so it is a great privilege and pleasure to work with all of these positive people in my team and team up with so many inspired entrepreneurs and companies. (mfo)
