The decision was made in close cooperation with the registered exhibitors and the international trade associations of the industry. "The health of exhibitors, visitors, employees and the general public is our top priority. The smarter E Europe is a major international event with around 1,400 exhibitors from 45 countries and 50,000 visitors from over 160 countries," explains Daniel Strowitzki, Managing Director of co-organizer FWTM. "A trouble-free preparation as well as realization of an internationally oriented trade fair is not possible under the current framework conditions. It was important to us that all those involved had planning security at an early stage.
Award ceremony takes place virtually
The organisers are currently examining which parts of the trade fair and conference programme can be displayed online: Thus, the presentation of the awards will take place virtually in order to honour the innovations of the industry on an international stage despite the current developments.
