Solarwatt is entering the UK market for energy self-consumption with partner network

The expansion programme is led by Pol Spronck, recently appointed Solarwatt International Sales Manager, who has worked in the solar industry since 2008. He has been talking to installation and building design professionals to supply the company’s premium-quality products according to the company.  “Our UK entry is an important milestone for us”, Spronck stresses.

Boost independence from utilities

“Electricity prices have been increasing significantly in the past few years,” Spronck says. “People want to fix energy costs as they do with mortgages – but utility costs keep rising. That is why household energy self-sufficiency is a hot topic today. With PV plus storage, people can fix the electricity costs for decades and boost their independence from utilities”, he underlines.

Growing traction for solar in UK

The expansion has been prompted by a substantial investment by Stefan Quandt of the family that owns BMW, allowing the company to take advantage of what it sees as growing traction for solar energy in the UK. Driving factors are also carbon reduction obligations and concerns over fuel security, Spronck underlined.

Broad product portfolio

Solarwatts product portfolio available in UK market will also include glass-glass modules, intelligent energy management systems, inverters, mounting and façade arrangements and veranda and carport systems with optional vehicle recharging. MyReserve storage addresses the long-standing challenge of power provision during low or no sunshine. (HCN)
