Viessmann:

Strong growth despite Corona

Total turnover in 2020 rose by six per cent to a total of 2.8 billion euros (2019: 2.65 billion euros) and reached a new record. The company also invested heavily to expand research and product development. The focus is on new technologies such as fuel cells or holistic solutions for purely electrically powered homes with digital energy management.

A new development centre for heat pumps was established in Dresden. In 2020, investments totalled more than 120 million euros. At the end of 2020, the Viessmann Group had 12,750 employees worldwide, 450 more than at the end of 2019.

Fuel cells up eight per cent

Growth was driven primarily by two areas: Climate solutions based on renewable energies and digital products. Green climate solutions include fuel cells (up eight per cent), heat pumps (up 35 per cent) and solar batteries (up 48 per cent).

This development is accompanied by dynamic growth in digital services: Förderprofi (up 500 per cent), Viessmann Heating/Heating-as-a-Service (up 450 per cent), Viessmann's partner app Vitoguide (up 67 per cent) and the end-customer app Vicare (up 47 per cent). Online orders increased by 16 per cent.

Germany with highest growth

The largest increase in turnover was recorded in the home market of Germany. Viessmann 2020 also recorded positive growth impulses in Poland, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Turkey and Switzerland.

The positive business development is also apparent for 2021. Sales grew in the double-digit percentage range in the first two months. The strongest growth rates resulted from solutions based on decentralised renewable energies. (mfo)
