In 2021, Solar Decathlon Europe will take place in Germany. The expert jury, which recently met in Paris, chose the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Wuppertal as the venue for the architecture students' competition for the most attractive energy-efficient building.
The focus is on residential buildings that not only are as energy-efficient as possible, but also cover this energy demand using integrated generation systems. However, architectural considerations should also not be neglected. For this reason, the jury assesses the design and functionality of the building as well. In the end, the winner will be the architecturally most attractive building that can cover most of its own energy needs.
