When expanding its company headquarters in Auerbach, Upper Palatinate, the photovoltaic project developer Sol Aid opted for an unusual energy concept that could set a precedent. This is because the company is relying on a heat supply with infrared panels, which are almost exclusively powered by solar energy installed on the roof of the newly completed building. In addition to this, a storage tank has been integrated into the energy concept, which further increases the company's own consumption and self-sufficiency.

This is because the building can be operated at 90 per cent with self-produced solar power. In addition to the company's own electric cars and other consumers such as lighting, office equipment, computer servers and tools, infrared panels use electricity from the roof to heat Sol Aid's new home. To find out how these make the rooms look aesthetically pleasing and what the overall energy concept looks like, read the current dossier, which you can find in the Solar Age project database.
