The module manufacturer Solyco Solar has started a cooperation with the green roof provider Optigrün in Europe. In future, Optigrün will use Solyco's brand new and special solar solution for the construction of green roofs.
Modules installed vertically
The Solon system from Solyco differs from the previous solutions on the market in that the modules are mounted vertically and no longer at an angle to the roof surface. For this solution, Solyco has developed bifacial modules in a special size that fit into the substructure.

This allows electricity to be produced on both sides of the module. This has the advantage that electricity production starts earlier in the day and continues until late in the evening. In addition, the modules produce electricity more continuously throughout the day than when they are elevated facing south.
Using the advantages of the green roof
Optigrün's green roof, in turn, provides other benefits at the same time. These include preserving the natural water balance, increasing biodiversity, and meeting discharge restrictions. As a result, the house owners can reduce the fees for rainwater. In addition, the green roof ensures greater efficiency of the solar modules and thus higher electricity yields due to low surface temperatures and the binding of fine dust. (su/mfo)
