The wildlife camera trap from Technaxx comes with a SIM card that supports 4G or LTE mobile Internet connection. It is battery-operated, and comes with substantial replaceable and rechargeable batteries. Both of these features allow it to monitor the garden and even the house (as a security camera) without needing to be connected to the power or house Wi-Fi. Thanks to its permanent solar charging capability (when the sun shines), it is fully self-sufficient.

The Wildcam records video in full HD at a maximum of 15 frames per second. It has a sensor that automatically triggers the camera to record when its records motion up to 12 metres away. For recording at night there are infrared LEDs that ‘light up’ everything within 15 metres. A built-in microphone and speaker allow two-way communication.

The system comes with a smartphone app that allows monitoring from anywhere in the world, which can also send notifications to the user if the camera is triggered. A slot for SD cards also makes it possible to locally record the video feed. (mfo)
