Company speaker Christina Pfeufer told pv Europe: "We expect an expansion between 1 and 1.5 GW for the Turkish PV market in 2017. The physical and climatic conditions - with irradiation values of 1,500-2,000 KWh / m² in the southern regions - are, of course, encouraging for market development. In addition, the attractive feed-in tariff (FIT) of currently 13.3 US dollar cents per kWh spurs the market.
Increased grid fees in 2018 – lower FIT
Unfortunately, this feed-in tariff will be severely affected by the increase in grid fees from 2018, and will then only be around 10 US cents / kWh. An inhibiting factor is certainly the fact that you need licenses for the construction of large PV plants in Turkey. These licenses are requested from the competent authority for energy regulation and require extensive documentation and safety services. All of this takes considerable time.“
