This makes the micro combined power and heat system much more flexible for both commercial and home applications. The unit will be available in Germany form May 2019 and is eligible for 433 funding from the KfW. Solidpower say that the micro-CPH Bluegen 15 represents the latest stage in the development of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology.
Scaling up the output is made possible by the innovative and robust design of the fuel cell stack. This also allows increasing the hot water production by 50 litres to a daily output of 250 litres. Conventional plastic pipes can be used to handle the exhaust.
Furthermore, the technician can start up the unit without the need for a company-trained specialist to be present. Any setting up and maintenance work can be performed from the front of the unit. This not only makes maintenance much easier, but also allows space-efficient arrangement of multiple fuel cells. (mfo)
