In the event of an emergency, the unit provides a basic emergency power supply, even without a battery. If a storage unit is available, the Primo provides a backup to supply the entire household with emergency power. Parallel operation of the modular BYD Battery-Box Premium HVS/HVM in combination with the Primo enables a storage capacity of up to around 58 kilowatt hours. The DC input voltage range of the hybrid starts at 65 volts and goes up to 600 volts, which means that strings of three or more modules are possible.
