The device gives the system planner more flexibility in arranging the modules and distributing the module strings. The input voltage range is 200 to 1,000 volts DC, with the M50A withstanding input voltages up to 1,100 volts DC without damage. The anti-PID function protects against loss of performance of the solar modules. This makes this inverter also well suited for retrofitting older systems. Relevant for lightning protection on building roofs are the AC and DC combined surge arresters type 1 and 2.
