Sungrow announces its new 1-phase.

With this step Sungrow shows its dedication and deep knowledge of the market. “The new 1-phase PV inverter is our next step to further push the energy revolution. It’s a tailor-made product to perfectly fit the needs of the installer and the end customer.” says Jeremy Powell, Director of Distribution for Sungrow in Europe.

The new 1-phase inverter, just like its 3-phase pendant, comes with the latest technology and safety features. “The integrated PID-Recovery function is one of my favorite features.”, says Ion Gherga, Product Manager of the new 1-phase. PV modules may be affected by potential-induced degradation (PID). PID is a long-term performance loss of the PV panel due to the leakage of current from the cells circuit to the module frame, which may arise under hot and humid conditions of the high voltage ungrounded PV systems. The 1-phase uses a unique PID-Recovery design to decrease the PID effect during daytime and further compensate the polar loss of PV modules at night. The PID-Recovery function comes as a standard with the new 1-phase and can be activated in the Monitoring App iSolarCloud.

Sungrow’s new inverter will come in two different versions: one version with one single MPPT tracker and another version with two MPPT trackers. The product will cover a power range from 2 to 6 kW. It will be compatible with high wattage modules. The inverter features a maximum withstand DC short-circuit current of 20 A per MPPT, being compatible with latest PV modules released on the market. Just as all other Sungrow Residential products the new 1-phase comes with a very installation friendly design. All connectors are accessible externally, therefore the product doesn’t need to be opened during installation. Furthermore, the 1-phase inverter comes with a smart LED panel for maximum control. It gives the possibility to check daily energy yield, instantaneous AC power or the working state of the inverter. In case of an error occurring, the error code will be displayed on the screen - for quick issue solving.

Also, when coming to safety the product is equipped with the latest innovations on the market. The new 1-phase comes with AFCI technology underlining Sungrow’s global leading position on product reliability and safety. In case of an arc fault the inverter will be disconnected swiftly from the grid and interrupt the arc fault circuit in less than 200 ms. This feature improves personal safety, protects equipment, and prevents damage of the solar system. The AFCI technology will be available shortly after product launch with a firmware update. Being asked about the availability of the new product, Ion Gherga from Sungrow commented: “We can’t give any details yet, but the product will definitely be available in 2021.”
Regarding monitoring, the new product convinces with its WiNet Module, which is part of the delivery scope, just as with the 3-phase inverter. The WiNet module combines Ethernet and WiFi connection in one port. With a refresh rate of 10 sec., data is always accurate and reliable and can be checked in real-time mode.
All in all, Sungrow’s new 1-phase PV inverter is a product to look forward to. The first prototypes of its bigger pendant the new 3-phase have already been installed over Europe and are delivering very good results according to Sungrow.
