Denmark: Ambitious solar target

With 903 watts per capita, Denmark is home to around 2 solar panels per citizen, ranking ninth in Europe. Denmark now has the highest per capita solar target in the EU, overtaking Germany. This is due to a significant increase in Denmark's National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) target to 17.8 GW(AC)/24 GW(DC).

One obstacle to achieving this is the high grid connection charges. Nevertheless, the market for larger PV projects is developing dynamically in the Nordic country, and SolarPower Europe expects more than 1 GW of PV installations this year.
