Portugal: National interest status for DH2 Energy's hydrogen project VVR Green

The PIN status is a support system for investments that are considered of special interest for Portugal due to their economic factors and positive impact.
DH2 Energy's VVR Green project consists of a renewable hydrogen production plant at an advanced stage of development located in Vila Velha de Ródão, in Castelo Branco, in the interior of Portugal.

75 MW electrolysis and 100 MW solar plant

The plant will have an initial capacity of 35 MW of electrolysis and 49 MW of solar PV. The project uses a captive solar photovoltaic plant to produce electricity to power the electrolyser and also entails a connection to the electricity grid. Renewable hydrogen production will amount to 1,650 tons per year in the first phase of the project.
The plant will be expanded to 75 MW of electrolysis and 100 MW of solar PV in a second phase.
