Antin becomes new majority shareholder in Blue Elephant Energy

The Hamburg-based company is a renewable energy generator that develops, acquires and operates solar and wind power assets in Europe and Latin America. BEE was founded in 2016 and has since grown rapidly in just a few years, thanks to its rapidly scaling platform. The company operates 67 solar and 13 wind power plants in eight countries with a power generation capacity of around 1.3 gigawatts. In addition, BEE already has an extensive secured project pipeline.

EU’s carbon emissions targets favour BEE

BEE benefits from the fact that the European Union has committed itself to reducing CO2 emissions by at least 55 per cent by 2030 and is aiming for climate neutrality by 2050. Against this backdrop, Antin will support BEE's experienced management team in unlocking the company's full potential in the fast-growing renewable energy market.
