Thanks to the agreement signed recently, Fimer and ENIE will collaborate on the local production of photovoltaic inverters to support all national government tenders and the free market, with the aim of achieving a local installed base of 13 GW within 2030.
The partnership will start in 2022. The main production hub will remain in Italy, including the manufacturing and assembly of electronic components, while the assembly of the remaining parts of the inverters and final tests will be handled by ENIE in Algeria.
Increasing presence in the Maghreb
“We are happy to officialize this joint venture with ENIE, after years of hard work” commented Ambrogio Carzaniga - Board Member of Fimer - who added: “this partnership confirms Fimer's constant commitment to adapting its business model to the different needs of the market. It also contributes in increasing the presence of Italian companies in Algeria – and, in general, throughout the area commonly known as Maghreb – favouring the Italian-Algerian trade balance, as well as expanding Italy’s presence in the North African geo-political chessboard.”
