The agreement covers a portfolio of solar plants under construction in Poland with an installed output of around 300 MW. The individual plants with a projected output of 0.3 MW to 30 MW will be commissioned in stages by mid-2023. Nomad Electric Services is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the plants.

As part of the contract between Axpo Polska and R.Power Group, a special business structure has been created to ensure the profitability of the entire project portfolio. Axpo Polska will purchase all the electricity produced by the plants between 2022 and 2026 and will be responsible for balancing the project portfolio. In addition, R.Power Group will gain access to price hedging instruments via Axpo, which will ensure the bankability of the projects. The transaction was advised by Wolf Theiss Poland and Clifford Chance Warsaw, the leading law firms in Central and Eastern Europe.

With this PPA, Axpo further strengthens its role as one of the leading purchasers of energy from renewable sources in Poland. To date, Axpo Polska has been primarily active in the marketing of wind energy, with an offtake portfolio comprising almost 1.5 GW of installed output. (mfo)
