Cooperation for Power-to-X development

This collaboration, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), was announced during the Danish Royal Visit to Warsaw. The agreement focuses on investigating the potential for Power-to-X development in Barwice and Grzmiąca municipalities and aims to explore the possibility of constructing a facility for the production of e-methanol as well as potential for creating a supply chain in the area for the production of e-methanol.

„Poland is one of the key markets of European Energy. Power-to-X and the production of e-methanol is an important step in the green transition. It allows us to electrify some of the hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy transport, shipping, aviation and chemical production. This collaboration is an excellent opportunity to share our existing knowledge and experience in the Polish market“, said Knud Erik Andersen, CEO of European Energy.

Preliminary investigations including environmental analysis

„Tax revenues, jobs creation, increased competitiveness of local businesses, contribution to climate change mitigation, and energy independence are just some of the benefits we see, at least for our community, in connection with the potential implementation of the project. Grzmiąca already has positive experiences with European Energy, as one part of the Pomeranian Wind Portfolio is in our municipality. Therefore, we are eager to expand our cooperation, said Patryk Makowski, the mayor of Grzmiąca municipality.

The potential for a prospective project will be analysed in detail, taking care of preliminary investigations, including environmental analysis as well as a lot of constructive dialogues with the local authorities, neighbours and stakeholders. His Royal Majesty King Frederik X of Denmark witnessed the signing of the agreement. HRM Frederik was in Warsaw as part of his first foreign trip as Head of State of Denmark. (hcn)
