The demand for qualified personnel in the solar industry continues to grow.

Last year, almost half a million people were employed in the European solar industry, almost a third more than in 2020. By 2026, this figure is expected to reach one million. To remedy the lack of skilled workers, the industry association Solar Power Europe is setting up a job exchange.

The industry association Solar Power Europe has called on EU countries to step up their efforts and training programmes to train skilled personnel for the solar energy transition: for industry, the installing trade or service providers. Already today, installers account for almost 80 per cent of all jobs in the solar sector.

The industry offers the most jobs in Poland, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands. To help advertise and fill vacancies quickly, the industry association wants to launch an EU-wide job fair: #SolarWorksFair. It will start on 1 December 2022 (HS/HCN).
