On the race to bring down the price of electric power from renewable systems, the companies here on the Solar Power International are exhibiting many new items. With higher efficiency of the solar modules and saving material on the structures, the investment to build up a solar farm goes down more and more. The cost per kilowatt-hourin the US is already beyond 5 Cent.
But now the Company Galaxy Energy presented a ground mount system which goes into another direction. “Time is money” and so they developed a system which is quickly mounted. Galaxy is claiming that with 24 workers they can build up one Megawatt a day. So this is about five times faster than all the others can do, explant CEO Georg Schöll.
To be fast is not only to save labor cost, the main benefit are for the investors and EPCs. At the bottom line this can bring down the price of output power to 3 Cent per kilowatt-hour.
