A total of 8,460 PV modules were installed on the roof of a commercial hall on an area of around 31,000 square metres - equivalent to the size of more than four football pitches. The project developer and general contractor was local company Fima Projekt GmbH and the mounting systems were supplied by the Schletter Group.

Besides the size, the structural requirements were among the special features of the project. So the modules were installed with the load-optimised flat roof system FixGrid 18-100 from Schletter. Through consistent lightweight construction and its aerodynamic optimisation, the system withstands even high wind loads with minimal ballasting. Thus, it allows a secure, penetration-free fastening even with low residual load-bearing capacity of the roof. (mfo)
