Start-ups set the agenda at the smarter E Europe 2025

In just under five months, Messe München will once again become the center of the global energy industry. From global big players to dynamic pioneers, the shapers of the energy transition will meet at The smarter E Europe. More than 110,000 trade visitors from all over the world are expected. Exhibitors and visitors can look forward to three days full of innovation and knowledge sharing.

Start-up Area: more than 4,000 square meters for new ideas

The smarter E Europe relies on the innovative strength of young companies and offers them an exclusive Start-up Area with more than 4,000 square meters of exhibition space. This gives start-ups the opportunity to present themselves and their products and solutions to an international audience of experts. To promote the diversity of ideas, three trade fair packages are available to start-ups for easy participation at special rates: the “Newcomer” package, the “Rising Star” package and the “Young Innovators” stand package, which has been specially designed for companies from Germany.

The Young Innovaters program enables German start-ups to present themselves at a joint stand of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWi) and to benefit from a subsidy of up to 60 percent of their costs from BMWi funding. In this way, The smarter E Europe is actively helping to strengthen the role of start-ups in the energy sector. The aim is to enable start-ups to access targeted contacts and financing and cooperation offers from established companies, and to increase their visibility in the market.

Present and network

Another key element of the Start-up Area is the Start-up Stage, where pioneers have the opportunity to present their innovative products and solutions to an audience of industry professionals. This stage not only offers a chance to present, but also to engage in valuable exchanges with experts, which helps to further develop ideas. For the first time in 2025, there will also be an informal breakfast for participating start-ups, creating a framework for discussions and promoting networking among participants. In addition, four mini-lounges will be available as retreats for productive conversations and building strategic alliances. In this environment, contacts are made, networks are cultivated and partnerships are launched.

The smarter E AWARD: in the industry spotlight

The spotlight shines particularly brightly on the companies and innovators honored with The smarter E AWARD. The coveted industry prize is awarded in the categories of Photovoltaics, Energy Storage, E-Mobility, Smart Integrated Energy and Outstanding Projects and presented at a festive awards ceremony on the evening before The smarter E Europe, on May 6, 2025, at the ICM (International Congress Center Messe München).

Applications for the The smarter E AWARD are open until January 31, 2025. Participation is free of charge for start-ups.

The smarter E Europe combines the four exhibitions (Intersolar Europe, ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power Europe) and will take place from May 7–9, 2025 at Messe München. (hcn)
