With China’s domestic photovoltaic (PV) market currently valued at over US$50 billion annually and forecast to double by 2030, Oxford PV and Trinasolar view the agreement as a major step in accelerating the rollout of next-generation PV technology.
Market launch of perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells expected in the near future
“This agreement is a milestone in our mission to make perovskite PV mainstream and affirms the pivotal role of patents in the photovoltaics of today and the future,” said David Ward, Chief Executive Officer at Oxford PV. “We are delighted that Trinasolar will be able to offer our technology to the Chinese market. We encourage other parties interested in a licence outside of China to contact us.”
Perovskite: the next major solar technology?
Trinasolar will be kicking off a new era of industrialisation for perovskite tandem technology, said Gao Jifan, Chairman and CEO of the Chinese manufacturer. (hcn)
