Baywa r.e. founds subsidiary just for its planning software

Solar wholesaler Baywa r.e. has spun off the former department responsible for the Solar Planit planning tool as a wholly owned subsidiary. "After Baywa r.e. and Solar Trade in particular have experienced strong expansion in recent years, we now want to drive this internationalisation forward with our Solar Planit software as well," Alexander Schütt, Regional Director Solar Trade at Baywa r.e., explains the move. The spin-off is also intended to accelerate the growth and internationalisation of the Tübingen-based solar trade division.

4,000 users across Europe

Solar Planit was developed as a stand-alone software for solar system planning, including the search for suitable power electronics. It is also the software of choice for tradesmen and installers planning with Novotegra's mounting system. According to Baywa r.e., almost 4,000 users across Europe currently use Solar Planit.

The new Managing Director of the Solar Planit subsidiary is Steffen Lindemann. He has been working in the field of solar energy and software development for more than 20 years. Previously, he worked for Valentin Software in Berlin, where he was responsible for the further development of PV Sol, among other things. "After 17 years at Valentin Software, 2022 was the right time for me to take on new functions and challenges," says Lindemann, explaining the change. Alexander Schütt adds: "With Steffen Lindemann, we have gained an absolute expert in this field. We are already looking forward to realising photovoltaic systems worldwide even faster and more efficiently with him and his team." (su/mfo)
