In order to expand and further develop its in-house developed Kostal Solar Portal, Kostal Solar Electric decided to collaborate with Berlin-based Solytic at the end of 2019. The Kostal Solar Portal currently includes over 100,000 PV systems and clearly shows its users central data of their own PV system - in real time.
"After the foundation of Kostal Solar Electric in 2006, we initially developed our own Solar Portal. With increasing demand, also for further functionalities and application possibilities, complex requirements for the Solar Portal were quickly added. In Solytic, we found a partner who took on this function and great challenge together with us. Today, the Kostal Solar Portal meets our expectations of a modern monitoring system with added value for our customers," says Frank Henn, Managing Director of Kostal Solar Electric.
"Kostal Solar Electric stands for innovative products and the highest quality standards. We wanted to be measured against this claim," says Johannes Burgard, Managing Director of Solytic. "In order to fulfil the individual requirements of the Kostal Solar Portal and thus meet the constant growth of Kostal Solar Electric, we have built a scalable data infrastructure with Microsoft Azure Cloud components. This has enabled us to realise the challenging criteria mix of security, stability and expandability," Burgard continues. Christoph Mausolf, Solytic's project manager, adds: "The migration of a customer portal that had already grown over many years turned out to be a complex function."
What does the redesigned Kostal Solar Portal have to offer?
The new portal offers a modern dashboard with clear and reliable data evaluation. Users of the Kostal Solar Portal receive a quick and comprehensible overview of the solar energy generation, the house consumption, the remuneration of their fed-in solar power as well as their self-sufficiency. In addition, the Kostal Solar Portal provides information about the weather or battery charging and discharging cycles. The Kostal Solar Portal also includes alarm messages to detect weak points and analysis functions to optimise your own PV system. All portal users can register their PV systems themselves with just a few mouse clicks and easily add further modules, such as a connected battery storage system.

"Together with Kostal Solar Electric, we will now successively add exciting functions to the Solar Portal. We are particularly looking forward to the further development of the Kostal Solar Portal with regard to its use in e-mobility and the addition of the Wallbox from Kostal," concludes Managing Director Johannes Burgard.
