Weidmüller: New solutions and products for solar applications

At booth B4.340, Weidmüller will once again be extremely innovative this year. PV Inline is a compact surge protection for rooftop systems. The generator connection box offers reliable protection even in the event of a direct lightning strike.

The smarter E Europe: pv Guided Tours and CEO-Talks - live from Munich

Thanks to the integrated SPD type 1 and type 2, it ensures a safe ground fault in an emergency. The space-saving design allows installation directly in cable ducts or behind the solar modules. PV Inline is listed as a finalist for The smarter E Award 2025 in the photovoltaics category.

Fire protection switch PV Next

The PV Next fire switch automatically switches off the solar strings in the event of a fire. The installation takes place at the entry of the string lines into the building.

If the house supply is cut off by the fire department, the system automatically disconnects the strings. As soon as the power returns, the switch automatically switches the system back on. The switch is designed for systems with up to twelve strings.

String monitoring increases the efficiency of solar parks

Precise monitoring of the strings helps to detect and correct performance losses at an early stage. Smart technology identifies defects, dirt or shadows. This increases energy yield, reduces maintenance costs and improves profitability – both for new installations and existing ones.

String monitoring is easily retrofitted in the solar park using DC connection boxes. Thanks to wireless communication, no additional cabling or civil engineering is necessary. This enables quick installation and rapid error diagnosis directly on site – a real gain in efficiency for operation and maintenance.

New weather stations for maximum performance

In order to optimally exploit the yield of photovoltaic systems, the precise recording of weather data is essential. PV weather boxes continuously collect data on irradiance, temperature, wind conditions, precipitation and humidity. They help to correctly classify power losses and optimize system operation.

In addition to these highlights, visitors to the trade fair stand can expect many professional solutions for building installation, workshops, energy management and energy storage. (HS)
