Solaredge integrates more and more components for sector coupling into its power electronics. In Munich for the 2019 pv Guided Tour, the manufacturer presented a single-phase inverter with an integrated charge controller for EVs.
In addition, the inverter comes with a Solar Boost function. This allows it to draw a current from the grid to support the solar load, for instance when a high output in needed for charging an electric vehicle. Because there is not always room in a garage for an inverter, the charge controller will be presented as a stand-alone unit starting in the fourth quarter.
