Recently Aiko has started production at its new plant in Jinan in eastern China. The factory combines the semiconductor industry with Industry 4.0 and runs entirely on green electricity. In the future, Aiko will use the new plant to manufacture its highly efficient crystalline silicon solar modules. It is part of a plan to expand Aiko's production capacity to 30 gigawatts per year. In the first phase, Aiko plans to build up ten gigawatts of annual capacity.
Cell production is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2025. The complete 30-gigawatt plant is planned for 2029. (hcn/su)
