Due to the size of the solar park, the solar electricity generated is not fed into the medium-voltage grid as is usually the case. With the help of the specially constructed transformer station, the voltage will be increased from 20,000 to 110,000 volts so that the energy generated can be fed directly into the high-voltage grid.
At the same time as the commissioning, Statkraft and Anumar have agreed on a further 40 megawatts, still under construction, under a long-term PPA. For a period of ten years, Europe's largest renewable energy producer will purchase around 40 gogawatts of solar electricity per year and integrate it into the supply of industrial customers. This means that Statkraft will now market the entire power generation of the solar park for Anumar.
Long-term PPA with Statkraft
"Already in July 2020, Statkraft laid the foundation for the realisation of the Schornhof solar park with Anumar by concluding the first PPA. I am particularly pleased that we are concluding another power purchase agreement today when the first part of the plant is commissioned and that we are visibly driving the energy turnaround through ambitious projects like this one," says Patrick Koch, head of Statkraft's origination department in Germany. The two companies have thus concluded electricity supply contracts with a volume of around 90 megawatts.

In summer, the Ingolstadt-based solar company Anumar concluded a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Statkraft for 50 megawatts for a period of around eleven years. The two companies also agreed on a short-term direct marketing contract for 30 megawatts to be installed under the EEG.
"With today's milestone we have finally proven that Anumar is a key player in the solar industry. We want to be a contact for local authorities and project developers so that projects of this kind can be successfully implemented. PPAs are an important part of the energy turnaround," explains Andreas Klier, Managing Director of Anumar.
About the project
The Schornhof solar park in the municipality of Berg im Gau with a total installed capacity of 120 megawatts is being realised on an area of around 150 hectares in several sub-projects financed by PPAs and by EEG subsidies. The pure investment sum is around 60 million euros. In total, more than 110 gigawatt hours of electricity will be generated sustainably every year, which is equivalent to supplying around 30,000 households. (mfo)
