With 27,000 of LONGi’s mono-crystalline high efficiency modules, the project spans an area of 100,000 square metres on the rooftop, producing sustainable clean energy that will reduce about 4,600 tonnes of CO2 each year, roughly equivalent to planting 230,000 trees. The project has been connected to grid since September 1, 2019 and is today the largest rooftop photovoltaic project in Belgium, according to Ecorus.
The skilled team of Ecorus installed the solar panels from LONGi at an average of 3 panels per minute, with more than 180 staff working simultaneously. The efficiency of the construction work with safety-first as its core was well received by Arcelor Mittal. The skylight solar project is a milestone for Arcelor Mittal, paving the way for companies in traditional industries to harness new energy and bring about important impact in the energy transition.
