In 2020, FuturaSun produced its first gigawatt of N-type IBC cells (IBC: interdigitated back contact). Rome-based firm Sertix was acquired to support development of perovskite modules.
In Jiangsu, China, an industrial site is nearing completion and is set to produce an impressive twelve gigawatts of N-type solar cells annually. A gigafactory for solar modules is also planned in Italy. (TF)
