This new technology is currently reaching 360 Watt with a 21.3% module efficiency in the version with the white back sheet. The all-black design, with black back sheet and frame, can reach 340 to 350 Watt.
Initially, the Zebra cell was developed by the International Solar Energy Research Center (ISC) Konstanz and FuturaSun. The Zebra product family is designed for the mid to high-end residential market but can also be applied to larger commercial roofs as well as utility-scale projects.
No LID or LeTID effects
The FuturaSun Zebra series has half cut G1 IBC N-type cells. The electrical contacts of the IBC cell are on the back allowing the best available light reactivity design on the market as front contact shading is eliminated and the available cell surface is optimized. The N-type silicon chemistry makes the Zebra panel immune to effects like LID and LeTID and moreover the module is also characterized by a record γ parameter of -0.30% per °C.

The half-cut cells are assembled with a two independent section design which secures a higher energy yield in case of partial shading. Moreover, the half-cut design reduces the internal resistance, increasing like this also the module power output while at the same time ensuring the expected Voc and Isc that allow a canonical string design. The combination of technologies enables the efficiency at module level to reach an industry-leading 21.3%.
25-year product warranty
Furthermore, the POE encapsulation film significantly improves such characteristics like light transmittance, resistance to internal ionic drift and long-term optical, electrical and mechanical stability compared to the current market standard EVA.
