The mobile lightweight construction system consists of a steel construction with the roof suspended on cables. Its photovoltaic modules are made of non-reflecting plastic and are connected to each other by hinges so that they can be folded out flat or pushed together tightly like a leaflet. The movement is controlled by an integrated meteo-algorithm that evaluates current weather data.

Due to the high degree of prefabrication, Horizon can be easily assembled on site for the most part. The system requires 50 per cent less material than permanently installed solar modules. With a height of almost six metres and up to 25 metres distance between the supports, it offers plenty of space for working under the photovoltaic roof.
