After the “Hof van Twente” (more than 9 MW) and “Hoogeveen” solar farms (approx. 24 MW) were commissioned on schedule last year, Belectric has now secured the next large contract in the Netherlands. As EPC (engineering-procurement-construction) service provider, the solar specialists are building three PV plants with a total installed capacity of 57 megawatts (MW) on behalf of Kronos Solar. Together, the plants comprise 126,700 solar modules and will be built in the provinces of Overijssel and Gelderland. The projects will be completed and on generating before the end of this year. Once fully operational, they will produce enough green electricity to supply the equivalent of 18,000 homes with green energy. Belectric will also act as operations & maintenance (O&M) service provider for Kronos Solar.

“We are delighted that Kronos Solar is once again using our services as part of their growth strategy for the Netherlands and has contracted us to build and operate three further plants”, explains Ingo Alphéus, CEO, Belectric Solar & Battery GmbH. “By the end of 2021 we will have installed more than 160 MW of solar capacity in the Netherlands, making us one of the country’s leading players in the sector.”
Project pipeline of over two gigawatts
"Belectric's reliability and quality is a great help to us in managing our company's growth. In particular, Belectric's ability to support us in all countries and across all voltage levels and varying project sizes. This is extremely important to us, especially with our project pipeline of over two gigawatts," adds Dr Alexander Arcache, CEO of Kronos Solar Projects GmbH. In addition to the projects for Kronos Solar, Belectric is currently finalising a solar project with an installed capacity of 38 MW for Vattenfall Duurzame Energie N.V.'s “Haringvliet Zuid” energy park southwest of Rotterdam. This hybrid system comprises a 22-MW wind farm, a 12-MW battery storage system as well as the ground-mounted photovoltaic plant that is being realised by Belectric. For this solar plant, the German company will also act as operations and maintenance service provider.
Monitoring more than 530 solar farms
Belectric is one of the world's leading EPC service providers in the development and construction of ground-mounted solar power plants and rooftop PV systems. Belectric looks back on 20 years of experience in power plant construction and has built almost 4 gigawatts of capacity to date. The company monitors more than 530 solar farms with a total installed capacity of more than 2.7 gigawatts worldwide. (mfo)
