Panasonic is continuously working to further develop its modules and increase their performance. At Solar Solutions, the Japanese electronics group will be presenting the next step. The HIT®+ N340 module, with an output of 340 watts, now achieves a degree of efficiency of 20.4 per cent. The N335 modules and the all-black N335K Kuro variant, each with an output of 335 watts, are exactly 20 per cent efficient. Thanks to their dimensions, the current HIT® modules N330, N300 and N250 still offer a high degree of mounting flexibility.
All modules share the following features: The frame includes a unique water drain specifically developed by Panasonic. The optimised water drainage minimises dirt deposits, thus reducing the risk of micro-shading. Furthermore, the solar heterojunction technology modules have a temperature coefficient of only -0.258%/°C. This value denotes the amount of efficiency lost per degree Celsius of temperature rise. Last but not least, Panasonic offers a 25-year product warranty and a linear performance guarantee of 86.5 per cent performance after 25 years.
Dutch market is growing
"The Netherlands are an important market for us," says Shigeki Komatsu, General Manager Solar Europe at Panasonic. "The signs are pointing to growth." Last year's growth rates suggest the same. After Germany and Turkey, the Netherlands was the fastest-growing photovoltaics market in 2018. PV systems with an output of 1.4 gigawatts were connected to the grid here, compared to only 0.77 gigawatts the year before that. For the first time, the gigawatt threshold was exceeded on an annual basis. The residential housing market, which is the most important market for Panasonic modules, grew by 23 per cent between 2017 and 2018.
