The Termitrab from Phoenix Contact are just 3.5 millimeters wide. There are versions with an overall width of 6 millimeters, featuring mechanical signaling are also available. A photoelectric barrier is used for monitoring. If a surge protective device fails as a result of an overload, the integrated disconnect device closes the remote tunnel at the corresponding protective device.
The photoelectric barrier for remote signaling is interrupted. The error status is forwarded to subsequent systems via the receiver module and a floating relay contact. The advantage of visual monitoring is the easy installation. It does not involve elaborate programming or additional wiring of the protective devices. (nhp)
