The Swiss technology company Elektron, which focuses on the energy and infrastructure market, and Secondsol will open up the possibility for Swiss operators of photovoltaic systems to replace solar modules in the event of damage from 1 July 2022. In this way, Secondsol, which already operates a Europe-wide spare parts marketplace for photovoltaic components, is simplifying access to photovoltaic replacement modules for Swiss system operators and tradesmen. The cooperation is supported by the Swiss industry association Swissolar and Sens E Recycling. ""We recommend Secondsol because, in addition to the professional recycling of disused photovoltaic modules, a simple and solution-oriented search for and procurement of replacement modules is important to us," says Sabrina Bjöörn, deputy managing director of Sens E Recycling, explaining the support.
250,000 replacement modules in stock
Elektron will act as a local distribution partner for the spare parts that Secondsol has in stock. The company keeps more than 250,000 spare modules in its warehouse in Meiningen, Thuringia. Secondsol, in turn, offers private individuals and companies a marketplace to buy and sell used or as-new historic photovoltaic modules via the spare parts platform. In this way, the two companies are making an active contribution to greater sustainability.
Developing after-sales strategies
For Secondsol, the strategic partnership with Elektron is the next logical step to support customers in Switzerland with a local contact. "In strongly growing markets, it is important to think about after-sales strategies at an early stage," explains Stefan Wippich, Managing Director of Secondsol. "The cooperation with Elektron and the support of Swissolar and Sens E Recycling today creates a system from which operators of photovoltaic systems and installers will benefit in the long term."
Enabling access to replacement modules
For Elektron, it is another foothold in the Swiss market for energy services. In addition to charging infrastructures and billing solutions for electromobility, the technology company offers Bicontsun, a modular solar storage unit solution so that solar energy can be stored and used when it is needed. "We are pleased to be Secondsol's distribution partner in Switzerland, making it easier for customers to access replacement modules for their solar systems," says Enrico Baumann, Managing Director of Elektron. "With this step, we are making another important contribution to the resource-saving use of high-quality products." (su/mfo)
