Solargaps, a Ukrainian start-up that operates its production line in the US, has developed a set of dual-use blinds. In addition to its conventional purpose – providing shade for rooms – they also produce solar power, because monocrystalline solar cells are laminated into the slats.
Double-glass module with more output
Something that should also be interesting to architects is the enhanced double-glass module by the Swabian manufacturer Axsun. They have completely converted their production to five busbars. This means that the conductive strips that transport the current through the module to the junction box have become thinner, but are also closer together. This not only improves the aesthetics, since the module technology is less apparent, but also enhances the performance of the modules.
Storage for retrofitting
At the turn of this year, the storage and inverter manufacturer Solarmax launched a new storage system into the market. The unit not only includes the battery, but also the power electronics. Together with the battery inverter, it is suitable for retrofitting existing solar systems that involve storage.
